ABOUT

The studio practice enhanced my understanding of how things are and released me from the confusion of how they look. It was Glenn Gould who once said that all art is either structure-based or effect-based. I am in the first group.

To my biggest surprise - Working in the space between math, poetry and everything that I learned through the studio practice is relevant to relationships, nature and society.

Currently, I practice three complementary aspects of painting: papers, canvases and walls. Each one teaches me about the other. Approaching the work from those three different angles allows me to discover different answers for various situations.

My responsibility is mainly to be present. If I want to be a good painter, I need to maintain the fix that enables the work. That might be the studio space, work supplies, publications, exhibitions, etc., but it is mainly about showing up. To take the test again and again. To be willing to fail, to be willing to succeed. To learn to enjoy the ride.
